Mineral Wells CDL Drivers — Wichita Falls Is 90 Minutes Away
If you hold a Texas CDL permit and you’re in the Mineral Wells area, the Wichita Falls DPS office is 90 minutes north on US-281. FastPass CDL provides a 5-day skills-test prep program — truck, range, coaching, and test-day support — for Class A and Class B applicants.
Why Mineral Wells Drivers Come to Wichita Falls
Palo Pinto County CDL applicants face limited local options for structured skills-test preparation. Wichita Falls offers a full-service DPS CDL test facility at 3 South Burnett Street — with consistently accessible appointment slots compared to larger metro areas. The drive from Mineral Wells via US-281 North takes approximately 90 minutes.
FastPass CDL operates at 4300 Airport Drive — 3.8 miles and 6 minutes from the DPS office. You practice the entire week in the same truck you use on test day.
The 5-Day Program
- Day 1–4: Range work — pre-trip, basic control skills, straight-line backing, alley dock, parallel park
- Day 5: Road-drive preparation on Wichita Falls public routes
- Test day: Same truck, same facility, 6-minute drive to DPS
- Class A: Truck + 28-ft trailer | Class B: Straight truck
- FMCSA-registered BTW provider — TPR ID: 107187a2
